Memorial Day Weekend

Friday, May 25th~
First day of summer break means making homemade ice cream, not fixing our hair, and playing all day long! Brielle had her last softball game too.
Beilyn is always creative with her little critters.
She made this beaded necklace at my parents' house while we were in China and she wears it almost everyday now.
BellaMei is a smart cookie. She says bye-bye, uh-oh, and copies a few signs. Yesterday, she started signing "more" without being prompted!

Saturday, May 26th~
While Alex & Braylee went to graduation, the rest of the girls and I went to visit my grandparents.  My Granny was in the hospital preparing for open heart surgery when we left for China. She had just arrived home a few hours before we visited. The evidence of how my Pa survived the last month was in the sink...just ice cream bowls. haha!
My Pa is just the sweetest. He shared his chair and his ice cream with her. ♥
Almost 84 years between their ages.
Then we stopped in to see my Grammy.
Sunday, May 27th~
I took a few pictures of BellaMei before church today since I forgot last week when it was her first time at church...that's what happens when you are #6. The girls sang during offering at church. We went to another graduation party after lunch. Then our BFFs brought us dinner and we talked all about China.

Monkey See, Monkey Do.
Not an easy task to get that many kids looking and smiling at once.
This was so cute. Londyn saw us waving and snapping, trying to get Juan to look up. So then she tried to help us out. ☺

Monday, May 28th~
When we thought we would have to be in China for 3 weeks, we didn't think it was feasible to take the girls out of school for 3 weeks. Plus we didn't expect our Travel Approval to come in 2 days when it had been averaging 7-10 days. So when we announced our adoption in March, I told everyone we would probably have Gotcha Day on May 28th and be home mid-June.  Yet, here we are with her home 2 weeks already! Yay! The only downside to traveling early was that we weren't in China at the same time as one of my best adoption friends! But, it worked out that she was able to pick up a binder we had left in China. 😄 Our guide grabbed it from our hotel and gave it to Angie at the consulate. Adoption has reminded me often how small the world really is.
Thanks, Angie!
It was a scorcher Memorial Day. Alex golfed, I landscaped, and the girls tried to stay cool.
