Journey to Juan - Day 13 {GZ to HK}

Thursday, May 10th ~

We went down for our last breakfast at The Garden. I realized yesterday as we were finishing up breakfast that they still have bacon but you have to request it! So that was the first thing I did today! I asked for 2 pieces of bacon but they brought us a plate full! yay!

We Facetimed with the little girls at home. Then Brynna and I dressed Juan in her new red qipao and took her down to the garden area for a few pictures. We met an adorable set of identical twin girls. Their momma asked us lots of questions about Juan and our family.
She was done...
One last look at our hotel suite... So many emotions. We love China. We love the memories made here. The next time we come back, it will be for a heritage trip with our girls, which will be a long time from now.  I miss my girls at home, but yet I wish we could stay longer too.
Saying goodbye to our guide, Lee. She was wonderful and so sweet!
Waiting in the train station to go to Hong Kong
Going through customs
This train ride went much better for Juan. She slept for over an hour.
The taxis in Hong Kong are tiny! So we split up and took two to our hotel on Nathan Road, one of the main roads on the Kowloon side of Hong Kong where we are staying. We ventured out for dinner and stopped by the subway station to get us each an octopus card. It's a pre-loaded transportation card that allows you to take the subway, bus, or trams. The subway system in HK is unreal. It's a whole world down there! Restaurants, shopping, and walkways (and PEOPLE!) everywhere!
We ate at a Pizza Hut close to our hotel. It tasted like home and was much needed after our unfortunate dinner last night.  We ordered a supreme with stuffed crust, garlic knots for appetizer, and an apple & ice cream dessert. We all agreed it was delicious and a wonderfully relaxing evening in modern Hong Kong.
Brynna had been begging to wear Juan in the carrier so I agreed to let her try it out on the short walk back to our hotel.
This might be one of my favorite pictures from the entire trip. 💖💖
Don't let this sweet little angel face fool you. She didn't want any part in getting ready for bed. ha! She fiiiinally fell asleep in our bed. Poor sweetie...3rd new bed in just over a week. She's actually doing amazingly well considering all of the changes she has been put through since Gotcha Day. We don't mind the extra little toes in our bed. ♥
