More HW and 4th of July camping!

The girls and I always enjoy a trip to Holiday World with our friends.  We tried taking all of the kids one year but it was exhausting! The last two years, we've stuck with just the big girls and it is so fun!  Daddy stayed home with the little girls.

We love camping with Alex's family over the 4th of July weekend each year. We go with his parents, siblings, his aunt & uncle, and his cousins and their kids.  Unfortunately, we were missing some of the crew this year due to other family commitments they had.  The weather was perfect for camping at Patoka...hot enough to go boating but cool enough to really enjoy the campfire!

Happy 4th of July to our newest American! Can you see the powder on her lips? She had just tried a powdered donut and was signing "more"! It also marked 2months with her in our family! ♥

First time on Pappy's boat!

Brynna on the jet ski with Uncle Andre

Ha! At one point the boat stalled out on the lake and Alex found an oar to save the day. ;) Thankfully, the boat started a few minutes later.

Beilyn's 1st bike ride!

Can't believe how much she has changed in just 2 months!!
Waving at herself

The kids all decorated their bikes.

Then they headed out on a parade.

Seven grandbabies!

Morning giggles around the campfire

This girl and her daddy. She thinks he is the best.

Wearing sweatshirts for fireworks 2 years in a row. crazy.

Beilyn cheered for the fireworks.

This sassy girl. Her shirt says a lot.

Little Miss & Family Camp

A few weeks back, Brynna participated in the Little Miss contest at the county fair.  Braylee won two years ago so I was wondering how this would work if Brynna didn't win. Secretly (ok, not so secretly now), Alex hoped she wouldn't win because he thought it would be a good character building moment for her. As her momma, I would have been thrilled to see her crowned but was so pleased with her response when her name wasn't called. She walked off the stage with a smile on her face. Then as we walked over to our family, she said, "It's a good thing I didn't win because I was the tallest girl and he was the shortest boy!" ha! I don't think the loss phased her much! :)
Her favorite part of the whole process was getting to ride in the parade!

Answering her on-stage question

Just a random summer day at home with my girlies

The last weekend in June, we camped at my mom & dad's lake back behind their house. We love it there. The cousins have so much fun playing together!
Friday evening view as I was headed to our campsite on the golf cart. Perfect weather.

We camped across the lake from the cabin. I could hear their giggles all the way across the lake.

Our way of keeping track of Mr. Miles in the dark. :)

Brynna is our little fisherman, except she won't touch the fish. ;)

Brielle wouldn't touch her catch either!

Love Kooper. He is so funny!

Haha! They tried to go before the slide was wet!

Hadlee caught a fish with each cast, and she will try to get her fish off the hook!

Hanging out on the boat with daddy, but don't worry, it was sitting on the beach.

Beilyn loved her first fireworks show!
