June already?! {End of May recap!}

I love blogging and having the memories documented for my girls but lately, I stink at blogging! The last few weeks have been jam-packed with fun stuff and good weather which means very little computer time.  Brielle is napping and Alex took the big girls golfing, so here's a quick recap in photos from the rest of May!

May 17th was Braylee's Awards program at school.
Recognition for National Fitness Award
She looks shy in this pic. :)  So very proud of Braylee for earning Straight A's all year.

May 18th was Brynna's big dance recital!

Congrats from her cousins and sisters after the show.
Hug from Aunt Mandi
She has learned to expect flowers from her daddy after a performance.

Yes, I cropped my kids out of this picture... ;) They were making goofy faces anyway.
May 18th also marked our 11th wedding anniversary.
We forgot to get a picture of just the two of us, so this will have to do.
Incredibly thankful for the blessing of being married to Alex.
And look what the last 11 years has brought us! LOVE being a wife and mommy!
More congrats from Papaw & Mamaw
My girls and their best friends.
Brynna, Addie, and a little tag along.
Funny how Brielle ended up matching their outfits.

After the recital, we drove down to Nashville.
It started out as an anniversary trip, but turned into a little family getaway.

We were so excited to tour the historic home since we couldn't last visit.

And the reason we let the girls come along... we found out our adoption agency rep would be in Nashville and we could meet her for dinner! She told us she has a picture of Brielle on her desk! Just about made me cry! She started at the agency when we were in process to bring Brielle home and Brielle's paperwork was one of the first for her to process so that's why she has Brielle's picture on her desk. And this folks... is how my girlies greeted her. :) Ha!
My girls with Erin from AAC- the adoption agency that helped bring Brielle into our family!
On the way home, Braylee told us she wasn't who she expected. I asked why and she said,
"I thought she would be Chinese!" ;)

Back home and enjoying the last couple of days of school...
Brynna playing 1st base.

Last day- May 21st
Can you see how excited Braylee was?
new water guns to kick off summer!

Memorial Day Weekend
I didn't think it was warm enough for the pool, but the girls figured out a way
around that. They just climbed into the sand and water table.
With chattering teeth, Brielle shivered and said, "Momma, this is fun!"

Jenn & Brad hosted a cookout. Miss Independent roasted some marshmallows.
We played a big game of wiffle ball- so fun!
On Memorial day, I surprised the girls with a tub full of water balloons.
To be a kid again...
And then we had to pull out the Slip n Slide. It officially felt like summer!
Brielle loved every second of it.
That night when I put her to bed, she had been quiet for awhile
and then whispered, "I yike that slip n slide!"
I bet she dreamt about it.

Splash Park with Hadlee & Kooper

Two little runts. Hadlee is taller but weighs less.
They are both under the 10th % for their ages.
Monkey See, Monkey Do
snuggly moment with the big and little sisters

Hanging out with Papaw
My dad was doing a test plot close to our house and invited the girls
to come help him. They had fun but I think it's safe to say Braylee hates the heat.
Brynna on the other hand may just marry a farmer some day. ;)

Brielle's 1st time in the tractor.
It didn't take her long to realize the tires would move when she turned the steering wheel.

Braylee- ready for her last regular season game
Mandi, Krista, and I had a yard sale at my house yesterday.
These kids sure had fun while their moms were busy.
Cousins are the best!
One last thing... I have been waiting to read this book called "Message from an Unknown Chinese Mother" because I know it will be heart-wrenching. I've been trying to prepare myself for it. I finally ordered it and when it arrived, I was struck by the cover. I asked Brielle, "Who is this book about?" She took one look at it and shouted, "Brielle!"  I think you can see why....
I've been in contact with some missionaries in Chengdu, China. They have been there for 10 years and have had the privilege of fostering 2 special needs boys while there. She told me this book is quite accurate from what they have seen.  I know I need to read it but praying for strength as I do. Someday, Brielle may read it too and I want to be ready to help her through it. As sad as the book may be, I have to say they chose a gorgeous model for the cover. :)
