A Girl with Goals
Back in May, Braylee came home from school one day and announced that Brynna had emailed the Middle/High School principal about the dress code. My initial reaction was "You did what?!" 😲 Evidently, my quiet (but opinionated) girl wrote a persuasive essay, including links to supporting articles, about why she felt the school dress code was outdated and discriminatory toward girls. (She made some very valid points!) Our amazing principal invited her (and a couple of her friends) to meet with him to discuss the points in the essay. And guess what?! Now there is a committee put together to review and update the dress code! My little 6th grader is getting things done! I'm proud of her for taking the initiative and being brave! She's a girl on a mission.

End of June {4-H projects}
Child Development was one of my favorite 4-H projects as a kid and I would say it's a favorite of my girls as well. It helps that they always have a willing subject to participate in their projects. 😊 Brynna's project was about teaching a young child how to prepare a healthy snack. She chose to make Ants on a Log.
They had the best time together!
Braylee's Child Development project was about Deadly Look-alikes, things that little kids might mistake as treats but are actually harmful to them.
I loved how Brynna's International project turned out!
Just when we thought it might never stop raining, we finally got to have a little pool party at the end of June!

Good News for BellaMei
BellaMei went back to Riley in mid-June for more testing. The good news is that the procedure they did back in March is helping with her aspiration issues! Yay! (It's so cute to hear Bria tell BellaMei she needs her "fickened" water.) Thankfully, they said we can start trying to transition her to regular liquids by thickening it a little less. Her heart echo was good too! The GI dr did start her on a new medication to help with motility of her esophagus, but overall, I'm calling the day a win!
Sweet girl dozed right off during her echo!

Shakamak 2019
We were able to squeeze in one camping trip between all of their sports camps... sort of. We went on a Thursday evening and had a great day on Friday before it started raining that night. It continued to rain into Saturday with giant water puddles everywhere. We decided to head on home, which was a good call since the rest of the weekend was just thunderstorms and tornado warnings.
Perfect evening around the campfire. It felt like Fall camping with temps in the low 60s.
This time last year, she HATED the swing. Now she's brave enough to try to lean back as it swings forward. ♥
These two little twinkies. Bria has Braylee's coloring, but there's no denying that she favors Brynna in looks.
Uncle Tim let Brielle borrow his Rubik's cube. She was determined to solve it and it didn't take her long!
Excited when she completed the first side.
Getting closer!
Ta-Da! She did it!

The Month of Camps
The girls spent most of June at camps. Brielle went to volleyball, basketball, golf, and tennis camps as well as practices for her travel softball team. She's still trying to figure out which sports she likes the most. She's a tiny little thing but is strong, quick, and competitive. Brynna went to golf and tennis camps. Braylee went to golf, cheer, and Bible Memory camps. June also included VBS, Father's Day, and rain. Lots and lots and lots of rain!
Alex joined the rest of the school board & administration to break ground for the building project at school.
Always fun to find cute pics on my phone. 😄
Bria was looking extra cute after church so we went outside for a few pictures.
We spent the rest of Father's Day helping to get things set up for VBS at church that began that evening.
I love the relationship these two cousins have! Best buds for sure!
Braylee and some of the other freshman girls volunteered to watch the little ones this week!
Alex & I were in charge of the Bible teaching time again. During this activity, they were attempting to make bricks out of mud.
Guess what? The girl on her right has an adopted sister too. 😊

It was a great week at VBS!
Just an average day at home. 😁
