What we did when we weren't celebrating a birthday....

During the month of September, we pretty much always have birthday decorations, cards, candles, and sweets around the house, but we also have lots of regular days too. :)

Brielle tried to help me make goodies one day. She got a bit carried away with the sprinkles. ;)

A trip to the dentist for the older 3 girls.

September 8th~ Celebrating Mid-Autumn Moon Festival with (American-style) moon cakes

Alex's grandmother passed away. While it was a sad time for our family, it was also a time to gather and enjoy each other's company.  After the funeral, we spent the day at my in-laws lounging around and then having dinner over the fire. Aunt Tristen took one for the team and slept out in the cold cabin with the older grandkids. :)

The next day, I went antique shopping with my mother-in-law and sisters-in-law.

And then we showed the girls what Daddy was going to put together for their birthday... a new swing set! I think they were excited. ;)

The next week, my two littles were sick. :( Beilyn had Roseola and Brielle had Hand, Foot, & Mouth disease. It made for a rough week but we were thankful they were all better before Brynna's party that weekend.

Beilyn didn't feel well and wanted to be with mommy so she made herself a bed on the kitchen floor. :)

Brielle started to play dress up and then fell asleep in the floor before she even got the fancy skirt on.

Mommy had a hair appointment and since both grandmas were working I did what any normal mom would do-- put them behind a screen and handed them yogurt and cheese to keep them occupied. It worked.

It still proved to be too much for a recovering Brielle as she passed out in the chair when we got home.

As we were getting ready, I realized Beilyn had on the shirt she was wearing the day we adopted her. It was not lost on me how much we both have changed since that day 4.5 months ago. He is so faithful!

We see her blossom more each day!

Last Sunday, we spent the afternoon at my grandparents' house.
