The Rest of August

In August, Beilyn had an evaluation for the developmental pre-school.  While she is quite stubborn and definitely has some delays, the truth is...she is one smart cookie. It's just a matter of relating to her in a different way.  She still uses a lot of gestures to communicate but I was shocked at some of the answers she gave them.  For instance, when they showed her a helicopter, she attempted to say helicopter, made a flying motion, and jabbered something about ouchies and hospitals. (I think she learned that helicopters transport sick people on the Paw Patrol cartoon.) Watching her little brain work makes my heart swell. She is such a funny little stinker!  She qualified for their program and will be getting Speech and Occupational Therapies while she is there.
Answering questions for the speech therapist.
She was thrilled to see the pre-school decorated with a Paw Patrol theme!

And just some other random August happenings...
Shopping date with my two oldest. (Don't worry. They only unbuckled while we were sitting in a drive-thru.)
Lunch date with her "best friend."
Beilyn let Sadie wear her Paw Patrol watch, which definitely says BFF in B's eyes.
Bria (8 months) learned how to climb stairs when we were out on a walk one day. She didn't seem to mind the scratchy concrete.
We often find the girls like this, with their noses in books. A girl called Braylee a nerd at school recently. We laughed and told her to embrace it. We are proud of our little nerds. 😄

I found Bria playing with both of Brynna's bearies and it reminded me so much of Brynna at that age.
Brynna at about 10 months with her bearies. ♥
One night at the end of August, our air conditioner wasn't working! Thankfully, our basement was 10* cooler than the rest of our house so we all just slept down there. It was the first time Bria slept in her crib! (She's still in our room in a pack n play. We moved our other girls to their rooms sooner but this time... well, she's our last little baby, so it's harder! But, we recently saw on the news that researchers now recommend babies sleep in the same room as their parents for the 1st year to decrease the risks of SIDS. It made us feel less overprotective and happy to keep her in our room a little while longer. ☺)
1st night in her crib
Bria dislikes hates bath time. She screams and cries.
This ONE day, I was able to get lots of smiles. Only once or twice since then has she taken a bath without screaming, but there are still usually tears.
Sometimes I stick them in my tub while I'm getting ready because they are both big mess makers!
Just Beilyn playing with her babies. She is such a good little mommy. 💗
