Spring Break - Day 5 {OKC}

This morning, we woke to another beautiful sunny day! We walked about 6 blocks to the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum. It was very humbling to be on the grounds and see all of the memorial chairs for those who lost their lives in the bombing on April 19, 1995.  The chairs represent the empty chairs at the dinner table of the victims' families.  We prayed for the families as we read the names on each chair. The long reflecting pool runs where the road used to be in front of the federal building. The tall gates at each end of the pool have the times 9:01 on one end and 9:03 on the other to represent life before and after the attack that occurred at 9:02. The museum was well done but so very sad too.
The museum with the "Survivor Tree."
We walked through the Art district and by the arena on our way back to the hotel.

That afternoon, we took the girls to see the much anticipated Beauty & the Beast. The movie was fantastic, but it ended up being a really expensive trip to the movies. 😒  Alex forgot his sunglasses and Brynna lost her retainer! She had wrapped it in a napkin and put it in the diaper bag but didn't tell anyone. We pulled several things out of the diaper bag, blindly in the dark, throughout the movie so I'm pretty sure it fell out and was swept up...and since we went to a matinee and she didn't realize she had lost it until bedtime, who knows where it ended up! She cried and I was frustrated but I quickly reminded her that it's just a retainer and can be replaced. Thankfully, we have no empty chairs at our dinner table. A little perspective goes a long way.
After the movies, we ate dinner at Toby Keith's I Love this Bar & Grill. It was just ok, nothing special.
She talks to anyone and everything.
At the crosswalks, there was an automated voice saying to Wait or Walk. When the voice would say "wait," she would yell back at him to "no tell me what do!" oh my. She is going to be the most lovely teenager. 😆
She's not pouting, just taking a break. ha!
This was the funniest round of putt putt I had seen in a long while!
Alex said he has a lot of work to do for any of these girls to have a chance at a golf scholarship. 😄
We lost track of how many mulligans we gave them.
For dessert, we found a little girl's dream land!
The store is called Pinkitzel.
We tried Snickerdoodle, Mint Chocolate, Peanut Butter Nutella, and Cookies & Cream.
(Snickerdoodle was my favorite!)
Bria would say that any of them with icing was her favorite.
Poor Braylee doesn't just look like her mommy. She's klutzy like me too.  She hit her head 3 times today! Once with her own golf club, once on the monkey bars at a park, and once on a street sign (as she was complaining that her head hurt!) lol!

A little video from our walk to the putt putt place... I love when she reaches for mommy's hand. ♥
