Part of Brielle & Beilyn's birthday gift was a surprise weekend away! We left after school on Friday and drove down to Horse Cave KOA in Kentucky.
| Kindergarten is wearing this girl out! She fell asleep just a few minutes after we left home. |
Saturday was the girls' birthday! After eating their requested french toast and sausage for breakfast, we drove over to Mammoth Cave's Visitor Center for our "Domes and Dripstones" tour. We were a little nervous about how the little girls would do since it would be so dark and included 500 steps, but they all loved it! I carried BellaMei in the carrier and she fell asleep about half way through the 2 hour tour.
| We rode a bus a few miles away to the man-made entrance to the cave. |
| Alex and I both agreed the random door in the middle of a sinkhole definitely made us feel like we were in an episode of LOST. |
| Our brave little 2 yr old descending the 260 steps down into the cave. |
| Headed back to the visitors center. |
| The birthday girls chose Mexican for lunch. No surprise! The outdoor tables were perfect for our crew. |
| Next stop, Dinosaur World! |
| There were life-sized replicas all throughout the park with quick facts about each kind. The girls were especially excited to see dinosaurs that have been found in China. |
| One last birthday party for our birthday twins. |
| Little gifts from her sisters. |
| So excited about new lunch box organizers. 😁 |
| Braylee & Brynna picked out the tennis racket for her! |
| I can't believe she is already 8! Despite her tiny size, Brielle is strong and excels at pretty much anything she tries. She adores her baby sisters, loves to help me in the kitchen, and has the best giggle! |
| Beilyn is our "extra" girl who loves extra big, acts extra wild, and makes us laugh extra hard! She loves animals, is learning to read (Thank you, Jesus!), and takes great care of her baby dolls. |
We spent the rest of the evening at the campground...eating way too much cake, grilling dinner over the fire, and hanging out at the playground.
| Juan's 1st time on a teeter-totter. She was a little unsure at first! |
| Perfect ending to the day! |
We took a different route home on Sunday so we could stop at Lincoln's Birthplace Memorial.
| Playing in the RV Sunday morning. |
| My 4 September sweeties missed "birthday call" at church that morning but we watched the service as we drove to our next destination. |
| Perfect day for a picnic |
| We found a fun ice cream stop on the way home! |
