It is hard to believe we have already been home a month! Our little girl fits right into our family and while I've had to get used to carrying a diaper bag again, life seems very much back to normal.
Brielle had another appt at the pediatrician's office for vaccinations and to follow up on how she is doing. He had two PA students with him and since Brielle has 3 "abnormal" physical exam findings (heart murmur, bifid uvula, and an inguinal hernia) not counting her multiple mongolian spots, I began to feel like my child was an exhibit and not a little girl. 😞 Being an NP, I know they need to learn, but it was too much... Good news is that her labs came back normal so we were told again that we have a healthy girl! After a few shots and lots of hugs from momma, we were off to meet our friends at the park.

The next day, the girls played outside most of the day, including Brielle. She can say "outside" and knows how to open doors so we have to keep them locked!

We congratulated Alex's cousins on their HS graduation. We love Bridgette and Matt and it made me feel old to see them graduating! They hadn't even finished pre-school yet when Alex and I started dating. Bridgette was the miniature bride in our wedding.
Last Sunday, my mom and sisters came to visit. Brielle was in love with baby Miles and so gentle with him...until she used his belly to push herself up! ;)
Monday, we hosted a Memorial Day cookout for our newest American.

| She had just gotten up from her nap (woke up by her big sis) and wasn't ready for pictures! ;) |
Our friends have been so sweet and supportive throughout our adoption. We wanted a chance to really introduce Brielle and thank them for praying her home!

The rest of the week was spent mostly at home, playing outside and getting ready for the yard sale.

So sweet! The big girls were watching TV on the floor in our room.

Do you take Brielle to Dr. Ruff? Callie went last week and he had 2 students with him - it felt very odd:) ha ha! Anyway - looks like you guys had a wonderful time at your cookout - wish we could have made it! Love all the photos - especially Brielle in her beautiful red, white, and blue outfit!!
ReplyDeleteIt just made my day to see Brielle in real life at the garage sale! She is darling, even tinier than I thought! I didn't want to gush all over her when beautiful Brynna was sitting right there, plus you guys were pretty busy. Anyway, I am glad that Brielle is thriving in your family. I hope we are as lucky to have a smooth transition too. Thanks for sharing!
