Northeast Trip - Day 10 {Acadia NP & Bar Harbor}

We took advantage of every ounce of today! We got up at 3:50am and began driving to the summit of Cadillac Mountain for the 4:48 sunrise. You have to have a passcode to get up the mountain in the mornings and our codes weren't working at first. We were feeling the pressure not to miss the big reveal, but we made it to the top just in time! It was magical! One of the first glimpses of the sunrise in the US.

We had to hike up the last part.
Brielle, Ella, and Liam had a perfect viewing spot.
When we asked a man to take a picture, Alex noticed he had on a Purdue shirt and asked if he was a fellow Hoosier. He was from Jasper! When we told him our last name, he said, "Well that sounds like a Barr-Reeve name!

We went back to the campground for breakfast around the campfire and left for our 1st hike by 8am.  We hiked up South Bubble Mountain to see Bubble Rock, a giant boulder perched on the side of the cliff.

Beilyn told a lot of Knock Knock jokes to Uncle André on the way back down.

At high tide, the water would splash into this little alcove and create rainbows, to the little girls' delight!
Per usual, Beilyn is playing in the dirt.
After a stop at Otter Cliff, we went back to camp for lunch and naps.
We spent the evening in Bar Harbor, starting with dinner at the Fish House Grill on the water.
Beilyn spotted a baby SuzyQ in the window. I'm so happy I caught her reaction (and of course the kitty came home with us.)
Since the tide was down, we were able to go out on the land bridge. We started our day at sunrise and finished it with skipping rocks at sunset.
